
John Otto, CLU, LUTCF, President
John entered the insurance business in 1977 as a group representative for The Travelers Insurance Company after graduation from the University of North Texas with a BBA and a major in Insurance. He arrived in Corpus Christi in December 1977, calling on agents in the South Texas area. Entering the agency side of the insurance business in 1981, John formed the Whitney-Vaky Life Department in April 1985 and purchased the department in January 1995. John earned his Charter Life Underwriter (CLU) in 1985 and his Life Underwriter Training Counsel Fellow (LUTCF) in 1991. Since 1977, John has specialized in the Employee Benefit field of insurance. John is a past President of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) – Corpus Christi, past President of the local chapter of the American Society of Financial Services Professionals and has moderated the business course for LUTC on several occasions. He is a past Regional Vice Chair of LUPAC, the political action committee of the NAIFA – Texas. He is a member of the Coastal Bend Association of Health Underwriters, the Better Business Bureau and the Corpus Christi and Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
His community service has included board memberships for the Consumer Credit Counseling Service where he served 2 terms as Treasurer, the Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse serving as President his last 2 years and the local chapter of the National Conference for Community and Justice.
John is married to Charlotte, a bereavement counselor for hospice, and they have 4 children. He is active in his church community. In 2010 John completed his first marathon. He loves snow skiing, camping and reading.

Terry joined Arvak Insurance Group, Inc. in November 1999 as an Administrative Assistant. With her many years of experience in retail sales, accounts payable and bookkeeping, Terry moved into an Account Manager position. Terry’s primary duties include being a liaison between our clients and the insurance carriers. She assists our clients with inquires, claim disputes, billing issues, employee enrollments and general servicing issues. Terry enjoys reading and spending time with her grandson. |

Sarah began her insurance career in 2004 in Birmingham, Alabama as an administrative assistant for Lloyd Wilson & Associates, LLC. Sarah joined Arvak Insurance Group in March 2006 as our Sales Assistant, and moved into an Account Manager position in March 2010. Sarah’s primary function is to serve as a liaison between insurance carriers and our clients. Her responsibilities also include claims advocacy, enrollments, and general servicing of employee benefits. Sarah also enjoys spending her free time serving the community and her church. |

Deborah joined Arvak Insurance Group in April of 2010. Deborah comes to us with many years in insurance and a solid administrative background. Her primary responsibilities include customer service and product administration. She is a member of the Life Office Management Association. Deborah enjoys spending her free time reading and gardening; she serves on the Beach to Bay committee and is active in her church. |

Patty Heath joined Arvak Insurance Group in October, 2010 as a part time bookkeeper. As of January 1, 2011, Patty joined the Arvak team as a full time employee. She has many years experience in bookkeeping and office management. Patty handles all accounting and related administrative functions. Patty and her husband moved to Corpus Christi in September 2010, and have found the people friendly and the scenery beautiful. Patty enjoys spending time with her grandsons, reading and riding motorcycles with her husband. She received her Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do from Dragon Kim’s School of Martial Arts. |
